Bijou Opera

Bijou Opera stages intimate, made-to-measure opera for private events, festivals and unusual venues. We refreshed the brand and rebuilt their WordPress site to match the quality of their productions.

The brief

The old site ran on a near-default WordPress theme, with a small logo, a single menu link and long blocks of text, and it gave venues no clear way to get in touch. Stefanie and Stephen wanted a site as polished as their productions. We started with a design mock-up for desktop, mobile and a new Our Story page, then refined it with their feedback before building.

The outcome

We rebuilt the site in WordPress on the existing Twenty Twenty-Five theme, with no page builder, so it stays light and easy to maintain. An emerald and gold palette, Playfair Display headings and a new favicon give the brand a theatrical feel. New sections include a patron banner, a Figaro showreel, critics’ quotes, a Così fan tutte feature and an enquiry form. The original pages are kept as drafts so the client can roll back at any time.
